Paralysis

Recover stronger with expert care at Narayani Hospitals.

What is Paralysis?

Paralysis can be life-altering, but timely medical care and the right rehabilitation plan can make a significant difference. At Narayani Hospitals, we offer comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients suffering from various types of paralysis—whether due to stroke, spinal cord injury, nerve damage, or neurological disorders.

Paralysis is the loss of muscle function in one or more parts of the body. It can be partial or complete, temporary or permanent, and may affect one side (hemiplegia), both legs (paraplegia), or all four limbs (quadriplegia). Causes range from strokes and traumatic injuries to conditions like multiple sclerosis or Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

Our Approach

At Narayani Hospitals, we recognize that every case of paralysis is unique and requires a personalized approach. Our expert team begins with an accurate diagnosis using advanced tools such as MRI, CT scans, EMG/NCS, and comprehensive neurological assessments to determine the cause and severity. Based on the findings, our specialists provide tailored medical management plans—whether it's reducing inflammation, enhancing nerve function, or treating underlying conditions like stroke or infections.

Rehabilitation is at the heart of our care. Our dedicated Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation team designs individualized recovery programs that include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and swallowing therapy, balance and gait training, muscle re-education, and the use of assistive devices. We also provide holistic support through counseling, nutritional advice, and caregiver training to promote emotional well-being and help families confidently navigate the recovery journey.
